Activities for children and young people at St George's Church

On Sundays at 10am we hold a Children's Church for various ages, held separately at the same time as the morning service, although the children remain in the main body of the church when there is a Family Service.

Messy Church is a held every first Saturday of the month at 4.30pm for children of all ages and their families. Numbers of people attending fluctuate between 70 and 80 each month. The programme includes craft activities based on a scriptural theme, followed by an act of worship which takes place in the Sanctuary, closed off from the remainder of the church in order to focus on God. Then we have a time of fellowship and a cooked meal, with a member of the team hosting each table.

Each Friday during term time, The Flock meets for play and refreshments from 1.30 to 3pm. Pre‑school children with parents/carers listen to a Christian based story. This group was set up many years ago by one of our young mums and is very well attended not only by children and their parents/carers, but also by grandparents.

Late Net is our youth club for young people at secondary school. It is held on Fridays from 7 to 9pm during term-time. As well as a short God slot, you will enjoy playing sport and games, entertainment, beanbags, socialising and a tuck shop.

Further information about all activities for children and young people across our churches is available here.
