The Friends of the Music of Holy Trinity, Folkestone
From the time of the dedication of the church, an important aspect of the local press was the musical detail of the services at Holy Trinity. These reports clearly
show the high musical standards of the services regularly sung by the choir.
Services from Holy Trinity have been broadcast on radio and television.
Holy Trinity cannot maintain this high standard without a large outlay. The church gives considerable assistance while the large congregations show how deeply they
appreciate the beauty of the services. However, some additional means are necessary to help church funds and it was with this in mind that the "Friends of the Music" was founded in 1983, to support
the many and varied musical activities within the church.
The "Friends" assist the church with extra-ordinary maintenace of the organ and provides support for the choir and its Director of Music. They provide financial
assistance helping with tuition fees for organ and choral scholarships.
The Friends organise, support and underwrite, various concerts and other musical events at Holy Trinity. The annual series of summer organ recitals usually take place on Wednesday evenings from mid-July to mid-September at
7.30pm.
If you feel able to help we would like to invite you to make a donation and/or become a "Friend of the Music". As a Friend
you receive a reduction in ticket prices for concerts, details of the musical events arranged by the "Friends" and receive an invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting and other social
functions but, more importantly, you will be helping us to ensure the continuance of our musical heritage, of which we are all so justly proud.
The rates for membership are as follows:
Single £12; Couples – £20 Single for life – £100 Couples for life – £150
