St. George's In Depth

On Wednesday evenings a Prayer Circle meets. During the week two well-attended house groups meet and a provision is being sought to start a third house group. Some of the local Nepalese Christian community meet at St George's each Sunday afternoon.

Each Friday (during term time) The Flock (30 pre-school children with parents/carers) meet for play and refreshments, where they listen to a Christian based story. This group was set up many years ago by one of our young mums and is very well attended.

Catering for the more senior members of the Benefice, Meeting Point meets regularly twice a month during term time.

On the first Saturday of each month an extremely popular Messy Church is held, being led by one of the Ministry Team, and one of our readers, and supported by members of the congregation. Numbers of people attending fluctuate between 70 and 80 each month. The programme includes craft activities based on a scriptural theme. Then there is an act of Worship which takes place in the Sanctuary, closed off from the remainder of the church in order to focus on God; this is followed by a cooked meal and fellowship, with a member of the team hosting each table.
