Official notice
St Paul’s Church, Sandgate
Background
On 9th February the Church Wardens of St Paul’s discovered that the Chancel window on the south side of the sanctuary was completely loose and moving in the wind, which at that time was very strong. Following discussions with Canterbury Diocesan Registry and the DAC, a temporary faculty was issued to allow the repair of this window to be carried out. A condition of this faculty was that we would apply for a confirmatory faculty and this has now been done. The final stage of this process is to publish an official notice in St Paul’s inviting any objectors to make their objections known. Due to lockdown and the fact that the church is closed, this is not possible at this time and the Commissary General has decided that provided the notice is placed on the Benefice website for 28 days, this will be sufficient notice. This notice therefore is to carry out this process and is dated 12th June 2020.
Confirmatory Faculty of a Repair for Covering of the South Sanctuary Window with Polycarbonate
If you have any objections or wish to raise any points with regard to this repair, you are invited to write to the Canterbury Diocesan Registry, Minerva House, 5 Montague Close, London SE1 9BB or if you wish to contact by email you should address your correspondence to the Registry Clerk, Mrs Ann Beswick (abeswick@wslaw.co.uk or tel: 0207 593 5148). Please note that any objections should be raised in the next 28 days. At the conclusion of this period, providing there are no objections, the confirmatory faculty will be issued.
