Prayer

A Confession for the Church

O God, whose will it is that all your children should be one in Christ, we pray for the unity of your church.

Pardon all our pride and our lack of faith, of understanding and of charity, which are the cause of our divisions.

Deliver us from our narrow-mindedness, from our bitterness, from our prejudices.

Save us from considering as normal that which is a scandal to the world and an offence to your love.

Teach us to recognize the gifts of your grace among all those who call upon you and confess the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

Liturgy of the Reformed Church of France

Lord of light and life,

as we still rejoice in the glory of Easter

let us turn our hearts and minds to Pentecost,

when your Holy Spirit empowers us to spread your word;

and as the new life of spring turns into summer

may we once again give you thanks and praise

for the bounty that nature provides,

in our gardens, in our countryside, in your world.

Let Christian hope bear fruit in Christian action

and your will be our way.  Amen

Prayer of the Month

We encourage everyone to develop an intentional and life‑giving routine of prayer, and to become involved in the prayer life of the Benefice. We support this by organising prayer events: quiet days, prayer days, a week of guided prayer, individual guidance on prayer, teaching on public and private prayer, and opportunities to pray regularly with and for others. There is a strong home‑group tradition within the Benefice, with meetings throughout the week for Bible study and prayer. The healing ministry plays an important part in the life of all three churches, with special services each month and regular times of prayer.

The lists below show the regular pattern of Sunday and Weekday services held in each of the three parish churches.

As the actual services may vary, particularly near to major Christian festivals, e.g. Easter and Christmas, please use the mini-Calendar alongside for more accurate information on services on particular dates.

A fuller calendar listing all events taking place across the Benefice may be viewed here.
